GothVamp UK is a portal community site, run by people who enjoy and live a GothVamp lifesyle for those who want to know more about it.

A portal is rather like a shopping centre/mall. You enter the portal through the main "doors" and inside are various "shops" or sections you can visit, interact with and contribute to. For example we have a community forum where you can chat, ask questions and post interesting stuff, we also have an area where you can keep an online journal, you can read interesting articles and contribute reviews and news.

Some areas are available for everyone to see and some are hidden for members only. For example the forums are for members only, because we don't think it's right that bots like Google can access your posts and log them, along with your username, in the Google listings.

That's ok, we don't force people to join, however, the details you provide are not collated for use other than for your membership to this website. We never pass on or sell your data to anyone else. The data you provide is secure and not even accessable to other members, other than some of the simple mandatory details, your favourite colour, for example, which are used to deter spam-bots on registration. Unfortunately, if you don't become a member, which is free, by the way, you can't access all the areas of the website.

No. But that is not to say we will turn away or shun those who are. Most of the members are into the Gothic genre or heavy rock and metal genres. Our members have a fascination with Vampyres, Werewolves, the Paranormal, horror films, Gothic poetry and literature, Gothic imagery and the like. Having said that, all you need is an interest to become part of the GothVamp UK family. We do not encourage people to follow a Vampyre lifestyle, we do not follow any one belief and I hate the taste of blood!

No, this is a fun site. It is not a site which claims to offer you a lifestyle package, tell you what to say and think, or even what you must have to be part of our family. We accept people from all walks of life and all ages who have a genuine interest in the genre.

Please ALWAYS check you junk folders for any confirmation emails you are expecting, as often because of the email title, they are considered junk messages.

We have a system of Membership Approvals on here. This is to try to limit spambots registering hundreds of accounts and bombing the forums and anywhere else they can post. Because of this each membership application is approved manually, so please give it at least 3 days before you contact us about your application. Please do not keep applying, this won't get your membership approved any faster.
